Privacy Policy

We take things seriously.

Roomie Remote knows how important your information is and knows you care about how it is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. This document describes our privacy policy. By using Roomie Remote apps or websites including the old Simple Control apps and this app or website or the Intercomm app, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Statement.

We’re committed to privacy.

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. We do not share any information outside of Roomie Remote.

Note that we are not responsible for the content or the privacy policies for web sites to which we may link.

Here’s the information we collect.

We may collect information submitted by you for the purposes of purchasing Roomie Remote products, or registering to use our support forums.

Note that no information whatsoever on purchases made on the App Store from Apple is provided to us beyond the name of your Country. We are not provided and do not retain any information or have any control whatsoever over App Store information, Apple IDs, or purchases made there. We receive only statistical information regarding the number of purchases in a given country and no information on the actual purchasers. This also applies to any in-app purchase made within the Roomie Remote application.

To provide Alexa Control, you may need to establish an account using an e-mail address and password. If you do not use the Alexa Control feature, there is no need to establish an account with us.

Our web servers collect information via the industry-standard Google Analytics tool that identifies your IP address, browser type, operating system, and other non-personal information in the form of anonymous web logs to help with site maintenance and improvements. This data is viewed as anonymous statistics to show the busiest times of the day or week, pages with errors and how effective our advertising has been. This information is not used for any other purpose and the information cannot be accessed by any other party.

Since Roomie Remote 6, user configurations are never stored on our servers or sent to us in any form unless you explicitly send it to us manually as part of a support ticket for analysis.

This is how we use cookies.

Cookies are used to provide additional features as well as to help us improve the web site and user experience. For example, the forum software uses cookies to track when you last visited to provide additional features such as displaying new messages since your last visit, as well as the ability to keep you logged in, if desired. We also use Google Analytics to see how our sites are being used. No personal information is provided to Google; instead usage statistics are collected to see how our sites are used and to gain insight on how we can improve them.

This is what you should know about using our site.

If you choose to use Roomie Remote apps or websites, your usage and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Statement. If you have any concern about privacy of Roomie Remote sites or products, please contact us.

Our business changes constantly, and our Privacy Statement and the Terms and Conditions of Use will change also. Our current Privacy Notice applies to all information that we have about you and your account. This document was last updated May 26, 2022.
