due to space limits, need upright. Would need it to respond to power on/off commands as well as the rest by IP.

The now-discontinued Panasonic DMP-BBT01 looks like a good candidate that meets your requirements. It’s a 2012 model, but you should be able to find a new or like-new model on eBay.
