Agree 100%, l believe when Roomie Remote did a survey try to find out who all uses Alexa the response was very poor, and it led to an assumption that they are not many Alexa fans out there…in reality the truth would be that many people did not bother to respond however I have at least 25 Alexa routines, which calls on different activities in Roomie Remote using simple control when each and every activity showed up as an on off switch in Alexa, using the new RR skill we have to first make sure RR is in the right room by Roomie Remote change the room and then specific room activity called out is way too cumbersome, the best way is to have Roomie Remote activities show up as an on / off switch in Alexa and that is all you need. You can then build your routines call on the specific activity and the activities as in Roomie Remote, which will do the job for you this was the most important feature for simple control, and it worked absolutely fantastic. I have been in touch with Roomie Remote and suggested this and they have told me that in future they would like to take a look at this as their resources are right now all in to make Roomie Remote X delivered as a major UI…l have full confidence that RR will make it happen, just have patience
We are making progress on a new skill in the Smart Home category. This is a very open ended area that could potentially involve months of re-certification. Every aspect of the skill is completely new code based on a totally different API, so the rewrite when available will require Roomie X. Best case scenario, the new skill might be available by the end of the year (Roomie X should be well before that). There is definitely still a chance this won’t happen at all though. But, in short, I wouldn’t waste time on other hacks in the meantime.
Agree, its a lot of work, hope to start with just make it work as each activity showing up in Alexa as on/off switch…that should be most of the use cases
The Roomie Remote X Smart Home Skill is now live:
This replaces the old “Simple Control” skill (which stopped working some weeks ago). This is a total rewrite of the skill as Amazon changed everything and thus requires Roomie Remote X which is also now going live. Expect some bumps in the road over the next few days as everything deploys. The new skill is currently US-only. As a reminder, the forum is not a support venue so if you have comments or suggestions or issues with the new skill, use the in-app support menu item in Roomie Remote X.

The old Simple Control skill was US, AU, CA, UK, IE. So those should be straightforward to add. When it comes to Amazon, the supported country list is really more about their side than our side. When we get to the point of adding other countries for this skill soon, we’ll see what their current list is.
BIG THANKS…ALL RRx activities now show as scenes in Alexa and we can call the scenes from routines. This is a HUGE Milestone!!!

Agreed. Big step up. BTW, you don’t necessarily have to use a routine. You can start the scene directly by simply telling Alexa “Activate ”.
