I am a former technology executive and software engineer who built his first dedicated, whole-room “Private Theater” in 1993. For years it was controlled by successive versions of AMX, for which I became an “authorized AMX support person”, just to get access to the code libraries. I developed thousands of lines of code to control about 8 sources, a dozen lights, masking, environmental, and IR routing. When Roomie first appeared, years ago, I was able to duplicate what AMX did in four hours. I ripped out my $20,000 AMX control system, and never looked back.
