As part of the upcoming 1.8 release of Roomie, we have a very significant amount of integration with VLC (VideoLAN Client). The integration is on the order of what we do today for iTunes, so essentially total integration. This includes the ability to launch movie files from the filesystem, and control virtually any VLC setting, view progress and media information, and much more.
We are looking to add 2-3 beta testers to our current team that specifically use VLC in their usual home theater setup and would be interested in helping to test this over the next few weeks or so before the release of 1.8.
