In case you’re having issues with discovering HomeKit

…make sure that on your iOS device under Settings/Apps/Roomie Remote/Allow Roomie Remote To Access… to turn on the slider next to “Home Data”.

You must enable this for your HomeKit devices to synchronize with Roomie. Ask me how I know (after over an hour of !#%@!).

This may be something that everyone else knows, but hopefully it’s useful to at least one other person. I don’t think I saw this setting mentioned anywhere in the Sep 2024 User Guide, and I’m pretty sure I looked at each one of the 60+ times “HomeKit” appears in the Guide.

Net-Net, I’m glad that I can now see my HomeKit devices.

You are asked this the first time you open the app after installation. There are around 6 different permissions, most of them are asked on first launch, though a couple of them like microphone and video are only requested on first use. Safe to say answering no to any of the permissions questions will prevent functionality.

I probably missed that as I just started using HK devices this week vs Roomie from about the time it was first released. I probably thought, “I’ll never need HomeKit…”.
