Integration with Control4

I have Control4 in my house - unfortunately.

I have an HC-300 controller and a multi-zone amp.

I’m not looking to hack into the Composer software that C4 uses. All of the lighting controls programmed into the controller work fine and I’m happy to keep that side of the system up and running. But component control via Control4 blows.

Can I either:

A) Separate the amp (which is good quality) from the controller and use Roomie to directly control the audio zones for power and source?

or

B) If need be, keep the amp connected to the controller and use Roomie as a Control4 remote?

The HC-300 controller does have serial as well as ethernet. The amp is only ethernet. And I assume they talk to one another with Zigbee as well.

Thanks

Kyle,

I’m with you. Would love to veer away from Control4 in any way possible.

I’m in the same boat. A solution involving the Almond+ router would be ideal.

From what it looks like, Almond+ is exactly what we’re looking for. I guess we’ll find out for sure this Fall.

I still need to crack their proprietary IP controls for the amp. I am pretty sure it can be done. Just haven’t taken the time to do it yet.
