IP Control of Rotel RSX-1056

This thread has a good overview of some of the major improvements of the Flex line:

Thank you.

Thanks a lot, quite clear!

Nonetheless… overnight I won the eBay auction for an (hopefully working) GC-100-12 at 60$ + shipping. Sure it won’t be the newest solution, but what I would have to drive via serial is not so new as well:

RS232: Pioneer Kuro TV LX508D

RS232: Rotel RSP-1066 sound pre-processor

IP: Oppo BDP-105 (hoping it will soon support feedback via IP)

IR: Oppo BDP-105 (only to switch it on, before a working IP/wol solution)

IR: mySKY HD satellite box (hoping it will turn to IP in the future)

IR: Sony PS/3 (via IR adapter)

Relay: some LED lightning

IP: Philips Hue

I hope it will work… Still I don’t understand why Global Caché has discontinued updating the GC100 product line, that could still be a more cost effective and integrated solution whenever you’ve lots of different devices to control.

Update: my used GC100 (obviously with old 2.x fw) died after a couple of days (…).

So I’ve just ordered a new Flex with serial… we’ll see. Hope will be able to catch my Rotel RSP1066 feedback…
