JVC NZ800 Control

I have been facing challenge controlling my JVC NZ800. I have tried Force Code Set Update, set the password on JVC to “PASSWORD10”, and added the JVC as a device with the new category “D-ILA IP Auth”, but still not able to control it.

I heard the new NZ800/900 use encrypted sha256 string. Does that mean the Password needs to be converted into sha256 rather than a plaint text?

Looks like yet another protocol change from them. Here is a codeset that uses PASSWORD10 concatenated with JVCKWPJ and then SHA-256 encoded. So, stick with PASSWORD10.

Feel free to edit this codeset and import it with your own encoded password if you like.

Hey Will, sorry for the late response. I tested the code set you shared multiple times over the weekend. However I’m still not able to control the NZ800 through Roomie Remote. I’m using Orbi mesh, assigned static IP to NZ800, and I can see the NZ800 showing connected in my local network. I set the password as PASSWORD10 in NZ800 for my testing. Can you help to take a look at this again?

As per the previous post, you can feel free to edit the codeset to your liking including changing the password. This issue does not apply to the breadth of Epson projectors so I can’t really say what your issue might be. However, it’s safe to say the forum is not somewhere that we can dig into anything like this anyway so feel free to send the log snippets to support to make sure you’re sending what you think you’re sending.

Happy to report everything is working now. It turns out I need to connect my NZ800 directly to the router rather than through Ethernet splitter.
