When playing music either in Apple’s music app or Amazon music - playback stops whenever the Simple Control app is put into focus.
edit - I should clarify that if I remove the Apple Media Player from my devices list then this problem goes away.
Typically such a problem description would be caused by using the Volume Hard Buttons feature. Turn that off to remove interactions with the iOS volume.
