Just got my roomie set up last night, I have a ir cable coming out of the tri port on my flex wifi. I have since noticed that my TV (Toshiba 55tl515u) accepts ir inupt via a 3.5mm jack. Can I just go to radio shack and buy a mono to mono mini cable and plug it in from the flex tri port (ir1) to the TV and expect it to work? or is there some kind of extra step I need to do while in roomie. I know ill have to change a setting in my TV…and also will my original remote still work on the tv or does the input being used disable the ir window on the outer side of the tv? generally speaking…I know each scenario has variables and can be different…
just updating this thread for anyone else who might be looking. I used a mono cable to go from my itach flex wifi to my tv and all works well…the only strange thing is that it will not control power on, power off works fine…still this is the best solution for me…hope this helps someone else out!
