For the last few years, we have been adding various warnings/notices inside the Roomie Remote app for two scenarios:
- Your subscription is tied to the V5 (2016) or V4 (ancient) app. We have a way to try to recognize those for the moment, but in general V4 subs are currently hard-ending with many already final-expired, and V5 subs will hard-end soon. In other words, they will stop renewing automatically with no action on your part. As per the notices in the app for recent years, it is past time to migrate these to a modern subscription.
We are posting this here as a stickied reminder. Even though we have had many years of warnings and notices inside the app, some users don’t do anything about these kinds of things until it’s absolutely necessary. What that will mean if you do nothing is that all subs based on V4/5 will not work with V10 whereas modern subs (anything purchased from the current app with the Corral colored icon, V6 through V9) will. Perpetual will continue to require V9.
To determine your sub type, go to the Apple Settings app, iCloud Account, Subscriptions, and look for a Roomie Remote sub named “One Room Annual/Monthly”, “Five Rooms Annual”, or “Unlimited Annual/Monthly”. If you have one of those, you are good to go when V10 launches. There are other older subscriptions that will also work, just make sure it’s a subscription based from the Corral-colored app V6-V9. V10 requires a modern subscription purchased in either V6-V9, or obviously in V10.
If you have questions about this or don’t know what kind of sub you have, please take advantage of the many months before V10 to ask support by using the in-app Submit Feedback button.
Thank you.
