Is it possible to use the in app ios keyboard to type searches to the Shield TV? I tried pairing with Bluetooth, but that didn’t seem to help.
Varies widely by app. We submit the keyboard commands to the Shield. Whether a particular app does something with those is up to that app. So it will work with some apps but not others. Since the Shield remote has no keys on it either, some apps simply don’t test/implement keyboard support – unlike say AppleTV where it is standard and almost every app supports it.
In the case of Kodi, make sure to use the Kodi device so it works well regardless.
