I’ve not noticed much in the way of any further development of Simple Control and as my current subscription is due for renewal in October, I was considering cancelling.
I have seen some mention of version 6 and a beta, but that’s it.
Looking on Facebook, there’s been no posts since June 2018. Has this product been abandoned?

There is a separate forum for beta and it was quite busy all Summer – it is exclusive to those in the beta program. V6 Beta has just come to an end and we are now in the release process which is basically when everything waits for Apple. This can take anywhere from a day to a month.
Not posting on Facebook is simply a reflection of my personal distaste for Facebook and historically very limited engagement of our users there.
