I am currently looking for motorised blinds that is compatible with roomie. I have come across Somfy from the compatibility list, however Somfy mylink have been discontinued for some time. I was wondering whether I can get confirmation that roomie would still work for Somfy Tahoma or Connexoon, the replacement for mylink.
If you send them to us, we’ll take a look. That’s why I suggest adding them as a Custom Device. It’s totally unnecessary for us to have these in order to add them in the general case.
We don’t support this device. It’s not in the compatibility list. Getting the information on how to talk to the device may require talking to the manufacturer or other information gathering.
Going back to your original question in OP, the answer to best and most controllable shades is obviously Lutron. Highly recommended whether you go Serena or one of the higher end systems. I have not encountered a Somfy new customer in many years.
I’ll reach out to the folks at Somfy. When linking Connexoon in google home, it is only successful if I link from an android device. There are so many gotcha’s with all the various vendors devices and apps and the integration of these. Matter appears to be helping but still along way to go.
Can I suggest you update your compatibility guide and remove Somfy MyLink as it is now superseded.
Somfy myLink works well. It’s a piece of hardware, it doesn’t get updated to whatever product you’re using. It will continue to work and thus is a valid entry on the compatibility list.
HomeKit Shades and Lutron Shades are the best choices in this area. These other things you’re talking about are distractions.
