Wemo to control a TV?

Hi all,

I see that Roomie supports Wemo switches, and wemo claims that it can turn on/off a TV. But how can it do that? Isn’t turning a Wemo on or off just the same as unplugging a TV or plugging it into an AC outlet? When I plug a TV into an AC outlet it does NOT power on, so why would it do so with a Wemo? Am I missing something?

There’s nothing about a WeMo that would turn on a TV other than allowing power to the TV. There are probably some TVs that may power on from that just as many computers will power on after a power loss, but it’s certainly not generalized.
