I’ve had a Ziddo player almost a year. No trouble with control via IP. Then, about 4 months ago…it would not work. I checked the IP address, nothing changed. So I switched to Wifi. It worked. It did that for a day, then it stopped. So, I go back to ethernet. It worked…for about a day, and so on. The address in Roomie and on the Ziddo are matching…but no control. The Ziddo remote I have to have out so I can keep switching between the 2 to get control. Don’t know why it’s doing this? I have a serial control unit from iTach…I could try that…have not set one of those up in years? Anyone else having a similar issue?
Zidoo needs a Restart every few days. Have you tried the basics like that? Zidoo is very stable connection-wise, but give it a couple days and nothing works without a Restart on those things. Definitely don’t go Serial. And don’t try to switch interfaces. Get Ethernet working, which maybe is just a restart for you. Also, update your Zidoo firmware, you didn’t specify version and they fix things often. Finally, not all Zidoo are created equal so not specifying your model might make all comments invalid. Latest is 6.4.68 for Z9X and for Z9X Pro it’s 1.0.95.
TLDR: This has nothing to do with Roomie and everything to do with your Zidoo setup.
I can believe that…I just don’t know how to fix it! I’ve reached out to Ziddo…and since it’s a 3rd party remote…no help. I just set another static IP address…let see how long it will work.
When the Ziddo is not in use…the power is cut. I have a wattbox…and so it does get a fresh start everytime I turn on the Zidoo. I have the Z2600 model…will check for an update.
