Zidoo - Movie List Issue

I haven’t been using Roomie that long so it’s still a work in progress but I had come across an issue with my Zidoo UHD3000 through my testing. For some movies I have multiple versions, like 3D and 4K or Theatrical and Extended, and when I pull up the list of movies from the app and click on one of those then nothing would happen. I couldnt find anything else on this so I am not sure if there is an easy solution or it’s just me having this issue, or everyone has it. If it is a problem that everyone has I did find a workaround which seems to work.

I re-match one of the two versions of the movie with a random movie I know I’ll never own. Then I go into the Zidoo web-app and edit it. I change all the info: title, run-time, rating, etc. and also upload the cover art. So, now it shows as two separate movies which solves the issue. I also had to solve another related problem which was that some long movies are ripped from 2 discs like: LOTR extended cuts, Snyders Justice League, etc. and they faced the same problem except I didnt want to do separate titles for them. So with those I just used an app to put the two mkv files into one.

Anyway, I figured I’d put this out there in case others were looking to solve this. If theres a non-workaround solution to this then feel free to let me know.

Zidoo’s Media Guide in Roomie offers either direct browsing (you choose the filename from a list), or the Movies guide which is basically just the same thing you see in Zidoo’s Home Theater app. I have not observed their HT app distinguishing different versions of a movie, so I’d assume all such cases should be engaged via direct browsing (eg. tab “smb” at the top level).

That makes sense and matches what I’ve seen. So the workaround I’m using is the solution then. I just really like the functionality of pulling up the list from the HT app so if I can make sure all my movies play from there then why not.
